High Hopes Syrah blend 2023

In the vineyards:
The Syrah is planted on schist soils and the vineyard produced only 2 tons/Ha in 2023. The bunches were tiny and created a wine that is deeply concentrated. The grenache is planted on deep red soils rich in iron. The combination of the beautiful grapes we received provides the final blend with an exceptional perfume and elegance.

Label story:
The air balloon symbolizes a new journey, reaching new heights and going to places never been before. In the background is Lukas’s face with a map of Swartland in it. The three leaves on the right showcase the number of cultivars in the blend. The fisherman is of how we always have high hopes when we try something new or when we go out to achieve something great. We’ve also added a wheat ear to give tribute to the Swartland where a lot of wheat is farmed by most farmers. The wheat fields in the summer give the countryside it’s “black” look and that’s where the term Swartland hails from.
